Zina Haywood

Zina Haywood, Executive Vice President/Provost
Academic and Campus Affairs, Gateway Technical College, has over 25
years of experience in Higher Education Administration from working at
The University of Michigan, Oakland University, Milwaukee Area Technical
College and Gateway Technical College.
Ms. Haywood has a bachelor’s degree in psychology
from The University of Michigan and a Master’s degree in Public
Administration from Oakland University. She is currently a doctoral
student at Walden University in Education-Community College Leadership.
She was in the founding class of Leadership Kenosha in 1998-99. She
participated in the Wisconsin Leadership Development Institute in
1997-98 and the National Institute for Leadership Development in May
2001 – May 2002. She is also a board member of the Kenosha Wisconsin
Area Chamber of Commerce, the 21st Century Preparatory School in Racine
and the Racine County Workforce Development Board. She is a board
member of the Jane Cremer foundation, the Racine County United Way and
is a Board member of the Racine OIC.
She has presented at various state, regional and
national conferences. In March of 2003, she gave testimony before the
U.S. Department of Education in Kansas City, MO, Financial Aid Works.
Selected presentations include The American Community College Trustees
(ACCT) Conference, San Diego, Connecting for Achievement and
Persistence, and the National Institute for Staff and Organizational
Development, Austin, TX, Improved Recruitment and Retention Through
Technology. Ms. Haywood is also featured in the University of
Michigan’s Women of Color Task Force video, “Women of Color: A Success
Story.”
Zina is very active in her church where she is an
organist and hospitality president. She is a licensed missionary for
her international church, The Church of God in Christ, Inc.
Zina has received various honors and awards. Most
recently, the 2005 Gateway Association of Career and Technical Education
award for Excellence in Administration and the Racine/Kenosha
Interdenominational Fellowship 2006 Living Legend Award. |
