Christine Quinn

1st Term:

Biography

As provost and vice chancellor of the University of Wisconsin-Extension, Christine Quinn is both chief academic officer and chief operations officer. She oversees the educational programming in the institution's four divisions: Broadcasting and Media Innovations; Continuing Education, Outreach and E-Learning; Cooperative Extension; and Entrepreneurship and Economic Development. In addition, she is responsible for building and supporting collaborative programs among divisions of UW-Extension and with other UW System institutions—especially UW-Colleges—and other key partners of UW-Extension.

 

Quinn has more than 20 years of experience in public higher education, including administration, teaching, research, grants writing, and outreach and extension. Throughout her career collaboration and partnership development with public and private organizations were key to success. Prior to joining the UW-Extension team she was associate vice president for academic affairs and provided leadership for a partnership based University Center, housing a land-grant university, comprehensive university and community and technical college. She also oversaw outreach, e-learning and continuing education.

 

Quinn earned her doctorate from the University of Minnesota, her master's and bachelor's degrees from the UW-Madison.

 

In addition to serving on the WWHEL Board of Directors, Christine is the Secretary of the National Outreach Scholarship Conference Board of Directors, and participates on the UCEA 2010 Conference Planning Committee and Penn State Transforming Regional Engagement.
