Ann Krause - Vice President

Ann Marie Krause is currently the Dean of Health, Human & Protective
Services at Blackhawk Technical College (BTC) in Janesville, Wisconsin.
Prior to this position she taught both secondary and post secondary
mathematics in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania and served as the Dean of
General Education at BTC. In addition, she co-chaired BTC’s last
Higher Learning Commission North Central Association accreditation
self-study process (2000).
Ann Marie received her BS.Ed (math major, psychology minor) from the
University of Wisconsin – Whitewater in 1974 summa cum laude. She
earned her MEPD (math education emphasis) also from UW-Whitewater in
1990. She completed her PhD in December 2009 at the University of
Wisconsin – Madison in the Education Leadership and Policy Analysis
Department working on an emphasis in higher education leadership. Her
dissertation was “Leadership Development and Mentoring That Matter:
Insights from the Career Trajectories of Women Community College
Presidents and Chief Academic Officers.” While at the UW she was awarded
the Morgridge Fellowship for Technical College Leaders.
She has served in leadership roles in several professional and
community organizations. For example, Ann Marie is past president of the
Wisconsin Association for Career and Technical Education (WACTE) and is
currently serving a second term on the WACTE Board of Directors.
She is also serving for a second term as Wisconsin’s representative on
the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) Region III
Policy Committee. She has been a member of the Wisconsin Math Council,
Inc. Board of Directors many times.
Ann Marie is a frequent speaker at conferences for organizations such
as The Chair Academy, ACTE, WACTE, and the Wisconsin Math Council, Inc.
She serves as a facilitator for The Chair Academy for Leadership and
Development as well as the Advanced Academy. She has presented week long
workshops on applied mathematics for K-12 math, science, and technology
teachers at the Cray, Sally Ride, and Washburn Academies. Ann
Marie co-facilitated middle school mathematics workshops at Millersville
University in Pennsylvania for two summers.
Ann Marie has been recognized with numerous professional awards for
both teaching and administration. She was honored by ACTE as the
1996 Outstanding New Career and Technical Teacher and in 2001 & 2007 as
WACTE’s Outstanding Administrator. Her local college has
recognized her twice as a teacher and twice as an administrator.
While serving in the K-12 system she was recognized by two different
school systems and by the Wisconsin Society of Professional Engineers.
